Privacy Policy

Overview

Conclave is a client-side application that enables you to interact with multiple AI models. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how data flows through our service.

Data We Do NOT Store

  • Conversations: Your messages and AI responses are not stored on our servers. Conversation data is kept only in your browser's local storage.
  • API Keys: Your API keys are stored in your browser's local storage for persistence. While they are transmitted through our server to reach the AI providers, we do not log, store, or retain them.
  • Personal Information: We do not collect names, emails, or any other personal identifiers.
  • Usage Analytics: We do not track how you use the application.

How Your Data Flows

When you send a message:

  1. Your message and API key are sent from your browser to our server.
  2. Our server acts as a proxy, forwarding your request (including your API key) to the selected AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google).
  3. The AI provider processes your request and sends a response.
  4. The response is relayed back to your browser.
  5. We do not log, store, or retain any part of this exchange — your API keys, messages, and responses pass through our server transiently and are not persisted.

The proxy server exists solely to handle API requests without exposing CORS issues in the browser. While your data passes through our server, it is processed in-memory only and never written to disk or logs.

Third-Party AI Providers

Your messages are processed by the AI providers you choose to use. Each provider has their own privacy policy and data handling practices:

Local Storage

Conclave uses your browser's local storage to save:

  • Your API keys (stored in plain text in browser local storage)
  • Your conversation history (for continuity between sessions)

You can clear this data at any time by:

  • Using the "Clear conversation" button in the app
  • Clearing your browser's local storage for this site
  • Using your browser's privacy/incognito mode (data will not persist)

Security Recommendations

While we take care not to store your data, please exercise caution:

  • Do not share sensitive personal information (passwords, financial details, health records, etc.) in conversations.
  • Protect your API keys — treat them like passwords. Do not share them or use them on untrusted devices.
  • Set spending limits on your API keys. All major providers allow you to configure monthly spending caps: We strongly recommend setting a budget cap (e.g., $5–$20/month) to avoid unexpected charges.
  • Use private browsing if you're on a shared or public computer.
  • Regularly rotate your API keys if you suspect they may have been compromised.
  • Create dedicated API keys for use with Conclave rather than using keys shared with other applications.

Conclave is provided as a free service on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

By using this service, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You use Conclave entirely at your own risk.
  • You are solely responsible for the security and management of your API keys, including any charges incurred through their use.
  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
  • We are not responsible for any costs, charges, or fees incurred with third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) as a result of using this service.
  • We are not liable for any data loss, unauthorized access, or security breaches related to your API keys or conversations.
  • We make no guarantees about the availability, reliability, or accuracy of the service or the AI responses.
  • The AI responses are generated by third-party providers and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content. We do not endorse or take responsibility for any AI-generated content.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page.
